I sha born in Konkani family in Mumbai in 1976, while graduating in Life Sciences at Ramnarain Ruia College in Mumbai, she appeared in a photoshoot for Indian photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha and door as a model opened in advertising and appeared for L’Oréal, Rexona, Camay, Tips & Toes and Coca-Cola. 

In 1995 she competed in Miss India and won Miss Talent Crown and started her first Bollywood career with Khalid Mohamed’s Fiza.

In 2005, she was nominated in three separate award ceremonies IIFA, Zee Cine Award and Star Screen Awards for best comedy role in  Sangeeth Sivan’s Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, with Anupam Kher, Ritesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor. In 2006, a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan hit Don: The Chase Begins Again, directed by Farhan Akhtar where Shahrukh Khan in the lead and Isha Koppikar was cast as Khan’s girlfriend ‘Anita’.

She acted in many Bollywood flicks and proved herself as a versatile actress Pinjar, LOC Kargil, Darna mana hai, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? , 36 China Town are few to name.

She has a black-belt in Taekwondo. In Nach Baliye 3 she was one of the judges along with  David Dhawan and Vaibhavi Merchant. She was one of the juries in the Miss Universe 2008 contest, held on 14 July in Vietnam alongside, amongst others, fashion designer Roberto Cavalli and former winner in 2004 Jennifer Hawkins.

On 29 November 2009, she tied knot with Timmy Narang and now a mother of beautiful angle Rianna.
