F rei­da Pin­to 1984, Mum­bai-born girl always dreamt becom­ing an actress. Inspired by Sush­mi­ta Sen’s vic­to­ry in the 1994 Miss Uni­verse com­pe­ti­tion, explain­ing that “the coun­try was real­ly proud of her, and I was like, one day, I want to do the same”.

She start­ed her career in 2005 as a mod­el with Elite Mod­el Man­age­ment India and fea­tured in tele­vi­sion and print­ed ads like Wrigley’s Chew­ing Gum, Ško­da, Voda­fone India, Airtel, Visa, eBay, and De Beers. Not only this she even host­ed inter­na­tion­al trav­el show that aired on Zee Inter­na­tion­al Asia Paci­fic between 2006 and 2008 called the Full cir­cle.

In 2008, Frei­da has select­ed as the female lead in Dan­ny Boyle’s film Slum­dog Mil­lion­aire It was the most suc­cess­ful film at the 81st Acad­e­my Awards: it was nom­i­nat­ed for ten awards, of which it won eight.

She won the Break­through Per­for­mance Award at the Palm Springs Inter­na­tion­al Film Fes­ti­val and was nom­i­nat­ed for var­i­ous awards at the British Acad­e­my Film Awards, the MTV Movie Awards, and the Teen Choice Awards. She has appeared in sev­er­al Amer­i­can and British pro­duc­tions, often play­ing sup­port­ing roles.

Direct­ed by Andy Serk­is and writ­ten by Cal­lie Kloves, based on The Jun­gle Book by Rud­yard Kipling this is live-action adven­ture fan­ta­sy film where Frei­da Pin­to as Mes­sua along with Rohan Chand as Mowgli and Matthew Rhys as John Lock­wood. The movie is planned to release the film in the Unit­ed States on Octo­ber 19, 2018.

  1. I always liked Frieda Pin­to ever since I saw her in ´The Slum­dog Mil­lion­aire´. She is pret­ty and has that exotic look as an Indi­an as well as car­ries off West­ern out­fits so well. She makes a per­fect Inter­na­tion­al celebri­ty! I liked your the­me for the chal­lenge this year.
