Holi is a well-known and most loved Hindu festival celebrated across India and also known as festivals of colors, festivals of love, and even festival of spring.
Story Behind Holi Festival
There was a king called Hiranyanaksap who was self-acclaimed God and wished that everyone should workshop him but his son was not ready and workshop Lord Vishnu. Whenever Hiranyanaksap asked who is the greatest in the universe, he always answered “God is the greatest” and so Hiranyanaksap planned to kill his son and called his sister Holika who owned a magical robe.
The magical robe had the power to save from burning in fire. Hiranyanaksap, tells his sister to take Prahlad on her lap and sit on fire and she did wearing that robe thinking Prahlad will be burnt to death but it turned another way, when Holika sat on fire wearing that magical robe, God saved Prahlad and Holika was burnt to death.
Prahlad came out safely and thus we celebrate Holika Dahan as a victory of good over evil and to mark the victory of virtue with colors. The two-day festival is celebrated as Holika Dahan and Rangpanchmi is marked as the closing day of this colorful festival.

Only 2 years ago when my son and family along with my daughter were home, we played Holi and it was a memorable day for me. My grandsons had the time of their lives. HOli is an a amazing festival. So lively and full of life. My kids love this festival and 4 to 5 days before the main day, their holi masti starts with water guns and water balloons.
