Every festival in India comes with its religious significance, pooja and fasting are something that everyone follows during the Navratri festival and it’s scientifically one of the greatest ways to cleanse your body, and with a proper diet plan to lose weight get your body in shape and toned.

Fasting for 9 days during Navratri is one of the most loved ways to pay tribute to Maa Durga but it can get reversed in terms of weight loss and make you gain weight too.   3. Include nuts and dry fruits in the right quantity.
  4. Drinking a lot of water, usually, we think that we are hungry while fasting when we are really thirsty.
    You will feel hungry if your water intake is not proper, you can opt for coconut water, nibu pain, fruit juice, and more. Just keep yourself hydrated.
  5. Fruits are high in fiber and low in calories which help you lose weight.
  6. Even including fruits in a diet plan to lose weight is great as it lowers the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

  1. If we follow fasting Indian diet properly, we gain health in these 9 days of observing fast. Because the alternative diet, or vrat ka khana is much more nutritious and healthy as compared to our everyday Indian diet. Thank you for sharing these recipes.

    Though we Bengalees don’t keep nine days fast, but during 4days of Durgapuja we make a lot of mistakes like not having plenty of water, having jumk food and all. Your tips will help us in losing weight and stay in proper shape.

  4. Some awesome advice here for the eight days long navratri fasts, Rajgira, and bottle gourd are my go-to in fasts which I am not normally very comfortable doing.
