Life is not easy to live when today on occasion of Teej(Festival where a married women keep fast for long life of their husband) another hand we have darkness in our society where still some girls and women are leading unwanted life. Love Sonia is one such upcoming flick in Bollywood.

The story behind Love Sonia: 

Sonia, a girl who loves her sister and take courage to step into the darkness of child trafficking to find her sister Preeti. This story is all about a young 17-year-old girl from a village whose farmer father sold her sister Preeti to a brothel to settle down his debts.

To find and get her back Sonia herself forced into this sex work moved to Mumbai. The story is all about her journey of finding her sister by getting raped, beaten, smuggled and is trafficked to Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

Love Sonia – The reality and people behind the camera

Directed by Tabrez Noorani and produced by David Womark working on this flick from last 10 years and this is going to be a directorial debut of Tabrez Noorani. 

Tabreez Noorani is one who was leading a double life, as a producer for films like including Slumdog Millionaire, Zero Dark Thirty, and Life of Pi, he goes as an undercover with NGO’s for a raid on Mumbai brothels, rescuing women forced into sex work alongside anti-trafficking organizations. 

He has participated in several raids of brothels and this story is inspired by one such rescue operation he was involved in. 

An incident which moved to make Love Sonia

In 2002, Tabreez started working with LA-based anti-trafficking NGO, when he was asked to help with a young Indian woman who had been trafficked to Los Angeles. “She had been trafficked through two countries and ended up in a container in Los Angeles.

Love Sonia is beautifully cast with fine actors like Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpayee, Riya Sisodiya, Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, Richa Chadda, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao, Sai Tamhankar and newcomer playing Sonia Mrunal Thakur.

For preparation, Mrunal Thakur visited the red light area in Kolkata and was so much felt pain and knowing their side stories.

This flick already got standing ovations across the world at various film festivals and won the best Indie Film Award at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2018, and now all set to hit the silver screen on September 14, 2018. 
This is must watch a flick this weekend to face the cruelty of another dark side of our society and hope we can bring a small change in the world.
