Farah- North Indian Snack

Some snacks/dishes from North India just make me happy and nowadays when we all are just locked in our home I prefer to prepare dishes that are healthy and tasty at the same time.

I remember my Nani used to make delicious Farah and no one can match her taste, not even my mom. In many parts, we normally make it is with Rice flour but I prefer with wheat flour which adds more nutritional value for the entire family.

Step 1:

Soak 250gms of Chana dal for 4-5 hours.

Step 2:

Grind in Mixer with 3-4 garlic cloves and 2-3 green chilies in a fine paste.

Step 3:

Add
Salt- according to taste
Red Chilli powder- 1 tbsp
Garam Masala- 1 tbsp
Amchur Powder- 1/2 tbsp

Step 4:

Make a medium dough with wheat flour and roll in thin small chapatti and fill the filling inside and give the desired shape.

Step 5

Boil water in a vessel with 2-3 drops of oil and a pinch of salt. Put inside your 3-4 Farah’s together. Tip: Don’t put many all together, it will break

Step 6

Once it comes above water take out in strainer and cut in thin slices. Shallow fry with a pinch of Ajwain (Caroom seeds) till it turns golden and crispy.

Serve with Green Chutney.

This is one of my and my entire family’s fav recipes. You can relish it with tea or serve as snacks at the party too.

Try and share how it turned out in comments.
