Early Pregnancy Care

The fetal development will be very fast in the first two trimesters and it is essential for an expectant mother to understand these changes. These changes will be reflecting on her as well. Her body is subjected to undergo a lot of changes physically. Apart from the visible baby dump, some changes in the skin, tiredness, dizziness, forgetfulness, frequent urination, food preference will also be other additional changes. You needn’t be alarmed of all these changes as all these are highly natural and will happen at least once to all women during their pregnancy phase. The most important thing here is understanding the changes one’s body is undergoing. This will give us better control over things. This piece is pulled from my personal experience during one of the research study in a maternity hospital in Bangalore.
Skin changes:
So how will your skin change while you are pregnant? The most common changes are slight pigmentation as your weight is subjected to increase while you are pregnant. These pigmentations will appear in hands, legs and sometimes on the face. Spots on hands and legs. This happens due to some hormonal activity in the body. Sensitive or itchy skin, especially on the foot, is another symptom. All these symptoms can be put aside if you follow a healthy pregnancy diet. Eat a lot of milk and dairy products along with whole grains and wheat. Consume a lot of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. Fluids help in flushing the toxins out of the body. And do not forget to include a lot of veggies in your diet with a little amount of fish and chicken.
Frequent Urination:
Frequent urination is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy. This is because as the growth in your womb becomes bigger, it reduces the bladder size and hence the capacity of the bladder becomes significantly lesser than what it is supposed to be. This is the reason why a toilet becomes the most visited place of the day. And this is very natural and you needn’t be worried about it. Also, sometimes it will be extremely difficult to completely empty your bladder during pregnancy.
Dizziness:
Dizziness happens due to low blood pressure. And now the question arises, will my BP drop if I am pregnant? Yes, the growth in your body puts pressure on your veins and hence reducing the blood pressure. There are also other reasons why your blood pressure is getting low. Some of them are iron levels in the body, standing up too fast, lying down for a long time and very less physical activities. You needn’t visit a Gynecologist in Bangalore or whichever city you live in until you face these: Shortness of breath, the problem in seeing or vision, frequent headaches and vomiting, pain in your pelvic area and restlessness. These signs could put you on the side of emergency but it could still be completely natural.
Hence we urge you to understand your body better for a healthy and happy pregnancy.
