Cool summer food for kids to make happy and feel fresh

Summers…that time of year when every kid waits for a vacation to explore more, play more and above all get permission to eat and drink which will make them happy.

I remember my childhood when summers used to be a time to experiment with new things – be it in my mom’s kitchen or in the garden in bored afternoons. I would make lemonades and invent new recipes to surprise my mother.

Now, when I see my kids doing the same every afternoon, I seriously relive the moment again. It’s a joy to see children to the best of their creativity.

On 17th May 2018 at St. Regis, Mumbai was all set to witness new cool breeze for kids as Abbott PediaSure India launched new Summer Special flavor Cookies and Cream that is making kids’ growth so much yummier! It is sure to make everyone’s summer fun as kids can focus on their play and mothers on their kid’s #TimeToGrow.

Special guests and famous celebrity couple Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi launched this amazing flavor and shared tricks and experiences on how to make summers the best way to connect with kids all the while instilling healthier eating habits.

Where little Chef Kicha stole the show with his amazing singing and yummy recipes around the cookies and cream flavor,  Dr. Eileen Canday, Expert Nutritionist from H. N Reliance Foundation Hospital and Dr. Indu Khosla, Practicing Pediatrician at Cloudnine hospital shared more knowledge on a healthy diet for kids.

Trust me a mother of two little munchkins; I was really happy to be a part of this great and amazing meet. Inspired by the little chef, sharing two recipes here which your kids can make and have at any time of the day by themselves and trust me all are healthy and easy to make.

PRECAUTION: Please be with kids when they are in the kitchen as it’s really risky to leave them attended.

Watermelon Popsicles

  1. Watermelon juice: 2 cups
  2. Powdered sugar: 9 Tsp
  3. Water: 1 cup

Mix powdered sugar with water

Add the sugar syrup to the watermelon juice

Pour the mixture into ice cream mold

Freeze for 5 to 6 hours

Take out from the freezer and enjoy a cool popsicle

Pedisure cookies & cream pops

2 x 235 mL (2 bottles) PediaSure cookies and cream, chilled

1 envelope whipped topping

6 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

In a bowl, combine milk with PediaSure and whipped topping.

Using an electric mixer, beat on high speed until the mixture thickens, approximately
2 minutes.

Add crushed cookies and stir just until blended.

Spoon mixture into 8 ice-pop molds OR cups of 125 mL (4 oz). Put an ice-pop stick or a plastic spoon through the center of each mixture for a handle.

Freeze 4 hours or until firm.

Now, it’s time to give your kids little freedom to cook and serve his/her favorite snacks this summer vacation and let them relish this yummy and healthy.

Make sure that the kids have a rollicking summer full or engaging learning activities and yummy, nutritious food. Let this summer be the perfect #TimeToGrow for every kid.
